Cobleskill Men's Soccer Draws With Sage

Albany, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men’s soccer team returned to action on Wednesday evening engaging in a 0-0 non-conference double overtime tie on the road to the host Gators of Sage College in a hard hitting affair played on the turf at the Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences Athletic Complex. With the tie the Fighting Tigers move to 3-8-1 overall on the campaign while the Gators are now 7-4-1 overall on the season to date.
Fighting Tiger freshman goalkeeper Sam Sherbacow, Minneola, Fla., Lake Mineola High School, was spectacular in the net for Cobleskill with eight saves none bigger thaN a diving two-handed deflection with 2:00 remaining in the second overtime that preserved the tie for the visitors. Sherbacow also directed the team’s defense which turned away Sage on 11 corner kick opportunities on the evening.  
Cobleskill will return to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action on Saturday October 14 when they host The Express of Wells College in league play at the Soccer/Lax Complex beginning at 1:00 p.m.
