Morrisville, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men’s soccer team made the trip to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) North Division leading Morrisville State on Tuesday afternoon with their hopes of a NEAC play-off spot hanging in the balance. After 110 minutes of hard hitting play the two long-time rivals battled to a 1-1 tie in double overtime. With the tie the Fighting Tigers move to 4-8-2 overall including a 2-3-1 mark in conference play while the Mustangs now go to 5-8-1 overall with a 4-2-1 record in NEAC play.

Cobleskill struck first in the 30th minute of play when freshman midfielder Aboubacar Konate, Bronx, N.Y., John F. Kennedy High School, scored his first collegiate goal on a pass from freshman midfielder Moussa Bamba, Bronx, N.Y., Fredrick Douglas Academy, to make it 1-0 in favor of the visitors.

The Mustangs scored in the 54th minute of the contest to make it 1-1 on a goal by sophomore forward Kossi Philippe Nodjo, New York, N.Y., Metropolitan High School, with an assist from senior forward Julian Rodriguez, Bronx, N.Y., Marble Hill High School.

Once again freshman goalie Sam Sherbacow, Minneola, Fla, Lake Minneola High School, held the line in net for the Orange & Black with three saves and a half dozen excellent defensive efforts to stymie the Mustang’s offensive attack.

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday October 21st when they travel to Bryn Athyn, Pa. to meet the Lions of Bryn Athyn College in NEAC action with kick-off scheduled for 1:00 p.m. prior to a Sunday October 22nd meeting with the Phoenix of Wilson College for a conference match beginning at 12:00 p.m.
