STAMFORD – In anticipation of their first full season on new baseball and softball fields, the Catskill Mountain Little League has opened registration for all boys and girls ages 4-12 and volunteer recruitment for adults. The cost will be $60 per player for children 7-12 and $40 for each additional player from the same family. Tee-ballers ages 4-6 will be $40 due to a shorter season. As in years past, the T-Mobile Call Up grant program (www.littleleague.org/call-up-grant-program) will be available to cover registration costs for families in need.
New this year, will be a returnable work bond for volunteers. When uniforms are distributed before the season, parents and caregivers will pledge to complete at least six hours of volunteering in the League. The bond is $40 and will be fully returned when all volunteer hours are complete. Examples of volunteering include, but are not limited to, field maintenance, concessions operation, scorekeeping, coaching, umpiring, or serving on the League’s board of directors.
“We’ve spoken to other leagues where this system is working well,” states Rebecca Thompson, who coordinates volunteering for the League. “When more people help, it all (the League) runs much smoother.”
Families are encouraged to register online at http://tinyurl.com/CMLL-2024 or in-person on Saturday, February 10 from 9am-1pm at the Stamford Central School. A copy of the child’s birth certificate and insurance will be required in order to register in-person. After February 29, a $10 late registration fee will be applied, and no registrations will be accepted after March 21. Opening Day is planned for Saturday, April 27th. Stay tuned to the League social media pages for more information on upcoming clinics for players and coaches.
