MCS Names Subs, Advisors

MIDDLEBURGH - Middleburgh school board members named a slate of substitutes and advisors at their January 10 meeting.

Board members:

* Named the following support staff substitutes: Tina Cody, Cody Phelan, ad Logan Rehberg.

* Approved an unpaid leave of absence request for Amber Papas, starting on or about January and extending to February 16.

* Named Mikayla Misenhimer as an Odyssey of the Mind coach for the current school year.

* Dissolved two scholarships. They transferred $2.11 from the William VanDeusen Scholarship to the school board scholarship fund and $1.47 from the Geoffrey Armlin Scholarship to the school board scholarship fund.

* Accepted the donation of $100 from the MCS Retired Teachers for the Middleburgh elementary Community Closet.

* Approved the following policies after a second reading: regular board meetings and rules; media/municipal/senior citizens; solicitation of charitable donations; school food service program; registration; and timeout and physical restraint.

* Had a first reading on the district's workplace violence prevention program policy.

* Approved in-service credit hours for the following: Susan Albright, Kimberly Audino, Kelly Becker, Mary Heather Guyer, Shannon Harris, Q Jones, Rachel May, Rebecca Quinn, Maria Sime, Lindsey Standhart, Nancy Williams, and Kris Wood.

* Appointed Diane Cohen of an impartial hearing officer to hear a case, effective November 22, 2023.
