Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts Debuts First Art Show of 2024

Fresh Perspective Art Show to display 113 pieces by artists from six states

 

 

Gloversville, NY – The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts is celebrating the start of the New Year with its Fresh Perspective Art Show, which will open on January 12, featuring the works of 43 artists from across New York State as well as California, Connecticut, Maryland, Oregon and Texas.

 

This diverse exhibition, running until March 16, will display 113 pieces in a wide variety of themes and media on display, including paintings, drawings, digital art, fabric works, sculptures, ceramics, photography and various mixed media works.

 

The Nigra Arts Center will host a Meet the Artists Opening Reception on Thursday, January 18, from 4-7 p.m. All are invited to this free event to browse the artwork, meet some of the featured artists and vote on their favorite pieces. Award winners will be announced at the reception and on the Facebook page, www.facebook.com/PaulNigraCenter.

 

Out-of-state featured artists include Christopher Fowler of Point of Rocks, Md.; Jessica Hughes of Norwalk, Conn.; Jess Kerr of Eugene, Ore.; Sang Lam of Glendale, Calif.; Brian Schmidt of Hamden, Conn.; and Lisa Stavinoha of Carrollton, Texas. New York artists displaying work include Natalie Boburka, Tiina Bockrath, Janene Bouck, Silvia Bragulla, Daniel Bridge, Donna Britton, Joshua Brooks, Deborah Bryk, Michael Burpoe, Ross Carangelo, Kathrine Cheshire, Donald Cooper, Ruth Crotty, Brenda Dwyer, Karen Elem, Charles Felder, Leslie Foss, Ron Geary, André Jones, Susan Jones, Elizabeth Knapp, Leena Kutti, Elizabeth MacFarland, Garlyn MaGinnis, Michele Michaels, John Morrette, Lynda Naske, Andrea Petro, Marina Petro, Abby Preston, Lutz Scherneck, Paul Steenburgh, Patrick Subik, Paul Valovic, Gerald Wein, Lisa Wells and Janet Marie Yeates.

 

The gallery is open for public viewing free of charge weekdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts is located at 2736 State Highway 30, Gloversville.

 

The Nigra Arts Center offers annual memberships to anyone who seeks to support the arts and community events at the Center. Membership levels start at just $25 per year and carry benefits such as discounted admission to classes and art exhibitions, mailing list access, invitations to special events, charitable tax deductions and more.
