WALTON — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced that a Utica, NY resident is facing charges of Aggravated Unlicensed Operator of a Motor Vehicle and Unlicensed Operator following an investigation.
On the morning of March 23rd, 2024, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an emergency call for service for a possible abduction of an adult that occurred within Delaware County. Deputies along with Delhi PD Officers were able to locate the vehicle that was allegedly being used during the reported abduction which had been traveling from the Downsville area to the Village of Walton. Upon completion of the investigation, it was found that no abduction had occurred, however Deputies found that the driver of the vehicle identified as 34-year-old, Kyle J. Walker, of Utica, NY had nineteen suspensions on his drivers license, Sixteen of Walker's suspensions stemmed from failing to answer summonses and three from Insurance Lapses.
Walker was subsequently arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the Second Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and issued a violation for Unlicensed Operator. Currently no other charges are pending from the original investigation Deputies responded to.
Walker was issued Traffic Tickets, and Appearance Tickets to appear before the Village of Walton Court at a later date to answer for the charges.
