Obituaries - Starleen M. Wood



Starleen M. Wood, of Locust Grove Lane, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 16, 2025 in the loving care of her family and Helios.

Starleen was born on August 26, 1966 in Albany to Ethel (Schrom) and Richard German, Sr., And just like a star in the heavens, her love and light shone brightest when she was loving and caring for others.  

Her compassion and strength forever touched families she served as a home health aide with Helios and her love and devotion was strongest with her family and friends.  She never missed a sporting event for her grandchildren or time spent relaxing in their pool together.  She enjoyed vacationing to Maine, Florida, South Carolina and Lake George and listening to the calming sounds of her windchimes and watching the hummingbirds and butterflies she was so fond of.

Loving her forever are her husband: John S. Wood; her daughters: Nicole (Travis Liebenow) Wood, Tiffany (Jimmy Cooper) Loika and Rhea (Norman) Varin; her grandchildren: Thackary, Alexa, Jace, Jaden, Amelia, John, Cody, Allyja, Celton, and Janessa; her siblings: Elaine Diamond, Rodney German, Ronnie German, Richard “Dickie” German, Jr. and James German; many nieces, nephews, other family members and close friends including: Julie (Ken) Cross, Erika Morell, Deb Waters and Rhea (Tim) Grandy.

A visitation with Starleen’s family will be held from 6:00-8:00PM on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street Middleburgh, NY 12122.  A private graveside service will be in the spring in Gallupville Rural Cemetery.
