Sunday, Feb. 23, 10 a.m. to noon, is the Children’s Ice Fishing Derby sponsored by The Catskill Mountain Fish and Game Club and The Stony Clove Rod and Gun Club.  Registration starts at 9 a.m. at the Rip Van Winkle/Tannersville Lake.  Prizes for the largest fish and the most fish in both the junior and senior division.  Open to children up to 16 years old—children 16 years of age must have a valid fishing license.  You may fish with up to three tip ups or hand lines and use single hooks only. Fourth Tuesday of the month (Feb. 25) is Game Day at the Hunter Public Library, 7965 Main Street, Hunter starting at 10:30 a.m.

The Soup and Fellowship Kitchen is Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Blue Room at the Kaaterskill UMC, 5942 Main Street, Tannersville.  Everyone is welcome to enjoy a free bowl of soup and sandwich and fellowship.  The Soup and Fellowship Kitchen is every second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.

Wednesday, Feb. 26 is Susan Constable’s birthday.

On Thursday, Feb. 27 at the Jewett Senior Service Center at 11:30 a.m., there is a presentation on Nutrition Education with Nicole Gehman, MS, RD, CD-N, sponsored by Greene County Department of Human Services.  Come learn about healthy nutrition habits.  Ask questions, enjoy a tasting and get a recipe.  Call ahead, 518-263-4392, if you want to stay for lunch.

The Greene County Senior Nutrition Program menu for the week of Feb. 24 – Feb. 28 is as follows:  Monday—Stuffed peppers, Italian mixed vegetables, white rice, pears; Tuesday—Sweet and sour chicken, oriental mixed vegetables, white rice, pineapple delight; Wednesday—Beef barley stew, broccoli, peaches; Thursday—Chicken Dijon, mashed potatoes, California mixed vegetables, yogurt parfait with blueberries; Friday—Chef’s Choice.  All persons 60 and older and spouses, are invited to attend.  Congregate meals served at noon Monday through Friday.  Suggested donation is $4 per meal.  Congregate dining reservations are required by noon at least a day in advance. If you reserve a meal and are unable to attend, please call as soon as you can to cancel.  This helps reduce our food waste.  If you have food allergy, please notify us.  Allergen information is available for prepared food items.  The number to call for the Senior Services Center at the Jewett Municipal Building, Route 23C, Jewett, is 518-263-4392.

Bowling Night for Veterans and family event on Saturday, March 1, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hoebowl Bowling Center, Catskill.  Come and enjoy two games, shoes, and pizza included.  RSVP required.  Call 518-719-0020 or 518-655-8771, arin.vandemark@hvncvr.

There will be an All You Can Eat Breakfast at 12094 Route 23, Ashland on Saturday, March 15 starting at 7:30 a.m.  This breakfast is sponsored by the Ashland Fire Department to benefit the Ashland Fire Department’s 100th Celebration in 2026.  Lots of great food, eat in or take out for a free will offering.

Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 9.  You turn your clocks ahead one hour.
