Cortland, N.Y. The SUNY Cobleskill men’s outdoor track & field team returned to action on Saturday competing at the 2023 Cortland Upstate Alternative Invitational hosted by the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons at their SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex. The Fighting Tigers posted a number of solid finishes at the non-scoring qualifying event.
Junior distance-runner Nick Logan, Queensbury, N.Y., Queensbury High School, turned in the top individual effort at the meet for the Orange & Black capturing the 1500-Meter Run in a time of 4:07.44.
The Fighting Tigers also received some strong efforts on the track from first-year sprinter Charlie Foote, Cobleskill, N.Y., Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, who placed second overall in the 400-Meter Dash in a time of 51.31 seconds, from first-year multi-event athlete Cameron Cusmano, Oakfield, N.Y. Oakfield-Alabama High School, who placed second in the 110-Meter Hurdles in 16.22 seconds and from first-year distance runners Nik Recoure, Peru, N.Y., Peru High School, who place third in the steeplechase in a time of 10:59.76 followed by teammate Jacob Rhinesmith, Sommerset, N.J., Nation Ford High School (S.C.), who finished in fourth in 11:14.11.
In the field events, first-year jumper Jeremy Rosario, Colonie, N.Y., Colonie High School, placed fourth in the High Jump clearing a height of 5’10” and first-year thrower Cal Marks, Wellsburg, N.Y., Elmira High School, finished eighth in Discus with a toss of 120’5”.
Cobleskill will next be in action over the weekend when they return to Cortland, N.Y. for the 2023 Cortland Classic hosted by SUNY Cortland at the college’s SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex on Friday April 21 and Saturday April 22.
