34th annual Dan Rion Memorial Antique Engine Jamboree & Powerfest

Written By Editor on 9/6/17 | 9/6/17

Saturday, September 9th, 10am to 4pm

This Saturday is the Antique Engine Jamboree. Come hear the rumble and whirs, pops and purrs of hit and miss engines, outboard motors, cars, trucks, tractors, model engines, water-cooled and air-cooled engines, and more. See a great variety of engines operating just as they did decades ago. Talk with collectors about the mechanical know how, dedication and detective work necessary to restore and keep these engines in working order.

Perennial favorites will join exhibitors new to the Jamboree to make for a great day.  A sampling of what you'll see includes: a treadle lathe from the 1850s, a 1925 Fairbanks Morse Hit and Miss engine, a 1910 Model T Roadster, a 1926 Ahrens Fox Fire Pumper, the Nash Metropolitan Fire Truck ride from the Catskill Game Farm,  a 1926 International 1-ton truck, model steam engines, a 1931 Ford Model A Doodlebug, Gilson Hit and Miss Engines, and a 1927 Elto Ruddertwin. Exhibitors are members of the Franklin Doodlebug Club, the Southern Maine Antique Tractor Club, Tired Iron of Butternut Valley, Blue Mountain Antique Steam and Gas, Southern Tier Antique Gas and Steam Engine Association, the Hudson Mohawk Chapter of the Pioneer Gas Engine Association, the Antique Outboard Motor Club, the Mohican Car Club, plus individual collectors.

We will be operating the wood-fired steam boiler and steam engines in the Mill. There will also be renewable energy exhibits, bluegrass with the Stoddard Hollow String Band, kids' activities in the Learning Lab,  Tickled Pink BBQ, and pie sales from the Charlotte Valley Presbyterian Church.

Kids 12 and under and Museum members get in free.
