The SUNY Cobleskill women’s swimming & diving team dominated the action at a double dual meet hosted by The Express of Wells College on Saturday afternoon as the Fighting Tigers topped the host Express by a score of 100-79 and the Bison of Gallaudet University by a 108-88 margin. With the wins Cobleskill improves to 2-5 overall versus opponents in head-to-head competition.
The Fighting Tigers captured four individual events and a relay in their winning effort led by freshman distance swimmer Michelle Moffett, Staten Island, N.Y., St. John Villa Academy, who won the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 14:19.87 and the 500-yard freestyle in 6:58.33. The team also received individual event wins from senior Mackenzie Cross, Queensbury, N.Y., Queensbury High School, in the 50-yard freestyle in 27.77 seconds and from junior Danielle Hoyt, Walcott, N.Y., Rose-Walcott High School, in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:01.79.
Cobleskill will close out the semester on Saturday December 10th when they travel to Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. to face the Raptors of Bard College beginning at 1:00 p.m.
