Cooperstown, New York – Fenimore Art Museum’s Glimmer Globe Theatre is thrilled to announce a return to live theatre this summer with "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)" by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield. This relentless farce combines all 37 of the bards plays (and sonnets!) into 100 minutes. Three madcap actors in tights weave their wicked way through every comedy, history, and tragedy in one wild ride that will leave you breathless with laughter. An irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard's career, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)” was London's longest-running comedy. Our new production will star Michael Henrici, Danielle Henrici, and Jason Francey and is set against the backdrop of beautiful Otsego Lake at the Museum’s Lucy B. Hamilton Amphitheater. Performances take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and select Fridays in July and August at 7:00 pm (July 14-August 18).

This is a production that appeals to everyone - lovers and “not-lovers” of Shakespeare alike. It’s also an incredible way to introduce children and teens to the Bard.

“Shakespeare Abridged” was the show that launched Glimmer Globe Theatre nearly a decade ago, and it means the world to us to return to this play at such a hopeful and challenging time for theatre companies worldwide.

Additionally, Glimmer Globe Theatre is excited to present a brand-new Shakespeare Revue. This collaborative performance will present a selection of monologues and scenes from across the Bard’s body of work, and will allow more of our local community to join us in bringing back live Shakespeare this season. The Glimmer Globe Theatre Shakespeare Revue will take place in early September.

If you have any questions about the performances, please contact m.tamburrino@fenimoreart.org.
