On September 7, the Catskill Watershed Corporation (CWC) Board of Directors approved funding for several projects in the Septic and Stormwater Programs.
21 homeowners and businesses in 15 towns in Delaware, Greene, Schoharie, and Ulster Counties were awarded reimbursement grants for replacement septic systems. Year to date, CWC has funded over 140 septic repairs and replacements throughout the Watershed.
Two property owners were approved for reimbursement funding from the CWC Future Stormwater Program for costs to comply with stormwater requirements of the NYC Watershed Regulations. A property owner in the Town of Woodstock, Ulster County was approved funding for design costs of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). Stormwater controls included the installation of three rain gardens, vegetated swales, plunge pools, inlet and outlet drainage repairs and a stormwater pond. New property owners were awarded funding for post construction stormwater control measures solely required by NYCDEP in the Town of Kortright, Delaware County as well.
Homeowners in the Town of Hunter, Greene County and Bovina, Delaware County were approved for Stormwater reimbursement grants from the MOA 145 Program. Both homeowners were required to implement Individual Residential Stormwater Plans (IRSP) per the NYCDEP Watershed Rules and Regulations. Among the components funded by CWC were rain gardens and drainage swales.
