SUNY COBLESKILL VOLLEYBALL DROPS TWO CONTESTS AT MOUNT HOLYOKE COLLEGE TRIANGULAR MATCH

The SUNY Cobleskill women’s volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at a triangular match hosted by the Lyons of Mount Holyoke College on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Tigers opened the event with a 3-1 loss Framingham State by set scores of 19-25, 19-25, 25-19 and 23-25 before losing a 3-0 decision to the host Lyons of Mount Holyoke by set scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-19. With the blank the Fighting Tigers fall to 0-7 overall on the year to date.  

Sophomore outside hitter Mackenzie Larson, Winterset, Iowa, Winterset High School, turned in a stellar effort for the Orange & Black on the day going for 16 kills, 21 digs and a pair of service aces versus Framingham State then posting a 13 kill, 14 dig three service ace effort versus host Mount Holyoke. Sophomore libero/defensive specialist Victoria O’Bar, Middlebury, Conn, Nonnewaug High School, also turned in a strong effort for the visitors with 27 digs, two kills and an ace in the opener then going for 10 digs and two service aces in the finale.  

Cobleskill will return to action on Tuesday September 14 when they host the Gators of Russell Sage College in non-conference action beginning at 7:00 p.m.
