Cooperstown Summer Music Festival Returns

 

Cooperstown, N.Y. – After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival returns for its 24th season with five shows throughout the month of August. 

 

“This season, we are offering the Cooperstown community a collection of performances spanning an exceptionally wide range of musical styles and traditions,” says Festival Founder and Artistic Director Linda Chesis.

 

 This season’s Cooperstown Summer Music Festival lineup includes:

 

  • Imani Winds -Tuesday, Aug. 2, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Otesaga Resort Hotel: The GRAMMY-nominated Imani Winds is famous for their innovative programming and dynamic performances. Cooperstown audiences can expect a concert filled with their signature fresh energy and technical expertise.

 

  • Verona String Quartet – Monday, Aug. 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Otesaga Resort Hotel: The multi-award-winning Verona Quartet returns to the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival with a program of Puccini, Beethoven, and Dvorak’s beloved “American” Quartet. 

 

  • Caroga Arts Ensemble: “Musical Kaleidoscope” – Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Otesaga Resort Hotel: Led by cellist Kyle Price, the Caroga Arts Ensemble will offer a program ranging from bluegrass and classical to jazz and pop. This show is a gift to the Cooperstown community, and tickets will be by donation.

 

  • Violinist Danbi Um and guitarist Jiji – Monday, Aug. 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Otesaga Resort Hotel: Danbi Um and Jiji will join forces for a genre-spanning program that includes works by Corelli, Paganini, Piazzolla and Ella Fitzgerald.

 

  • Brazilian Jazz Legends: Trio da Paz– Monday, Aug. 29, 7 p.m. at The Farmers Museum: This Brazilian supergroup will transport the audience to South America with an evening of jazz.

 

Tickets for these shows are $30 for adults and $15 for students and children (except for “Musical Kaleidoscope” by the Caroga Arts Ensemble, where tickets are by suggested donation). Tickets for all events must be purchased in advance either online at www.cooperstownmusicfest.org or over the phone by calling Purplepass Tickets at 800-316-8559 and selecting option one. Please note there is a $2 service fee per phone order. Audience members will be required to show proof of vaccination, including a required booster shot for those who are eligible for all events.
