Music on the Delaware’s March 19, 2023, Coffeehouse at the Walton Theatre will feature
musicians Linda Hickman and Iris Nevins on whistle, wooden flute, and Irish harp in a concert of
traditional Irish music.
The two performers have been playing Irish traditional music together for over 20 years. Iris has
been active in Irish music in New York and New Jersey since 1976. Currently she teaches Celtic
guitar and harp and runs the music program at the Irish American Association of Northwest
New Jersey. In addition, she builds and repairs harps. Linda Hickman teaches traditional Irish
flute and tin whistle. She and Iris run local sessions in the New Jersey area. Linda also partners
with the New Jersey Folklife Center to bring a wide variety of performing folk artists to Zoom
programs for people with disabilities. For the Walton Coffeehouse, they will be performing
traditional Irish dance tunes as well as O’Carolan compositions from the early 1700s.

Music on the Delaware coffeehouse concerts are held on the third Sunday of the month in the
Andrea Retz Paternoster room on the second floor of the Walton Theatre. Performances are
free and run from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Coffee, tea and desserts are served, and donations are
gratefully accepted. Future performers are Barn Paint Blue on 4/16/23 (traditional/progressive
bluegrass); and Bea Summers & Barb Acker (The B’s) on 5/21/23 (classic country, country rock,
folk, and originals).
