Oneonta, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team dropped a 2-0 decision to the host Red Dragons of SUNY Oneonta at The Red Dragon Baseball Field on Monday afternoon in non-conference play. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 4-10 overall while the Red Dragons are now 17-4 on the year to date.
In a classic dual between pitching staffs it was Cobleskill junior right hander Andrew Jarkow, Glen Head, N.Y., North Shore High School, who ended up the hard-luck losers as the Fighting Tiger starter allowed two runs of which only one was earned on five hits striking out five and walking three in five innings of work.
Offensively the Orange & Black managed eight hits on the afternoon led by first-year right fielder Logan Firment, Andes, N.Y., South Kortright High School, who went 3-for-4 on the afternoon and by senior third baseman Frank Leger, Bronx, N.Y., All Hallows, who finished 2-for-4 on the day.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Tuesday April 4 when they travel to Utica, N.Y. for a single game non-conference meeting with the Pioneers of Utica College beginning at 4:00 p.m.
