FIGHTING TIGER BASEBALL MAULS CAZENOVIA COLLEGE 15-5 IN NAC ACTION

Cazenovia, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team continued to remain unbeaten in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Friday afternoon opening a three-game conference weekend series versus the host Wildcats of Cazenovia College by a 15-5 margin in league action. With the victory the Fighting Tigers even their season overall record to 11-11 on the year with a NAC Western Division leading record of 6-0 while the Wildcats fall to 6-20 overall with a 2-4 record in league play.  

The Fighting Tiger bats were as hot as the central New York weather as Cobleskill pounded out 19 hits including five doubles on the afternoon jumping out to a 10-0 lead after four innings to put the game in the win column. 

Cobleskill was led offensively by the trio of sophomore first baseman Dylan Pohl, East Meadow, N.Y., East Meadow High School, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored, first-year right fielder Dylan Schwam, Cooper City, Fla., South Plantation High School, who was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and three RBI and senior third baseman Frank Leger, Bronx, N.Y., All Hallows High School, who was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Junior shortstop David Flora, Windsor, N.Y., Windsor High School/Herkimer Community College, was also a factor at the plate going 3-for-5 with two doubles, four runs scored, a stolen base and an RBI. 

Senior pitcher Wyatt Palmer, Camden, N.Y., Camden High School/Cayuga Community College, work 6.1 innings to earn the victory allowing three earned runs to improve to 2-1 overall with relief help from first-year right hander Tanner Wood, Glenville, N.Y., Niskayuna High School, who worked 2.2 innings allowing no runs on no hits, striking out three and walking no one to earn the save.  

Cobleskill will return to Cazenovia on Saturday to close out the series with a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
