STAMFORD — Next up in Kaats Cradle Theater Series, interdisciplinary dancer, choreographer and theater maker Gerry Trentham visits Stamford from his dual life in Toronto and Buffalo. He will present a recent dance film “Ray” at the carriage house theater space located behind 76 Main St. in Stamford at 2pm on Saturday August 26 and share a community artist talk with attendees. Gerry is the second performing artist to be featured in the Kaats Cradle Theater Series, which provides local and visiting theater artists the space and opportunity to develop new work and present original performances to Catskills audiences.
Earlier in the week, Gerry will offer a Solo Performance Development workshop - many of the exercises he will lead and describe are tools he uses in his personal practice and which will be on display in the film screening. This is a great opportunity for dancers, for theater makers, for writers who wish to bring their words to life or find new modes of composition, AND for curious folks interested in exploring their ideas through performance! Free and all levels of experience welcome.
