Blue Christmas Community Advent Service of Hope in Middleburgh

Written By The Mountain Eagle on 12/4/23 | 12/4/23

MIDDLEBURGH - Not all Christmases are white;  some are blue. At a time when many around us are celebrating with holiday symbols, many of us also feel a strong sense of loss, grief, disconnection from others and the holiday festivities going on around us. Perhaps you have lost a loved one or a pet. Maybe you have lost your job, or your independence, or your source of income. Perhaps you are struggling with illness, or perhaps this is the first year you are away from home, or you or a loved one are working during the holidays. Lots of us are missing someone or something.

This service is for anyone who has a little sadness, loneliness or loss this season. Middleburgh Reformed Church members invite you to join them on the longest night of the year for a reflective service of hope. Blue Christmas is a quieter, softer worship service with music, scripture and candle lighting. Even in our darkest times, God offers us hope and comfort if we are willing to bring our sadness and hurt into the light of His Love.  We hope you will join us on Thursday, December 21st at 7pm to 8:30 pm for the Blue Christmas Community Advent Service of Hope, followed by light refreshments. Middleburgh Reformed Church, River Street and Middlefort Road. Because face it, it's been a tough year.
