COBLESKILL — At the Town of Cobleskill’s Board Meeting, they honored Brian LaVine Town Councilman with a Proclamation for his years of service (November 2018 – December 31, 2023) and for all the good things he did for the Town not only as Councilman but many other things, including the children and the Town Park

Proclamation given to Brian LaVine is as follows:

Whereas, we are a nation of people who thrive on helping others as well as ourselves to a better life; and

Whereas, to achieve the kind of society we hope to build for ourselves and for our children, we must work together in a spirit of unity and cooperation for the betterment of all our citizens; and

Whereas, government alone cannot solve all our society’s problems because of their magnitude and nature; and

Whereas, thousands of our citizens work each day, not for profit or recognition, but to build stronger communities and to serve human needs; and

Whereas, Brian LaVine, has worked and volunteered for the Cobleskill Community and mentoring our children; and

Whereas, Brian LaVine, has served as Town Council from November 2018 through December 31, 2023; and

Whereas, Brian LaVine has become an effective influence in the community and exemplified the qualities for betterment of our community; and

Whereas, the leadership of our town will miss the officially active participation of Brian LaVine in the day-to-day affairs of the town; and

Now, therefore be it proclaimed to extend to Brian LaVine our deep appreciation for his unique contributions to the Town of Cobleskill and his fellow citizens and our best wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors.

Brian LaVine responded by saying, It has been an honor and a privilege to be elected to the Board and to work with all these board members. He noted particularly, RJ Mallery and Mary Ann Wollaber-Bryan when she was on the board. They really just brought me along. It was great. I also enjoyed working with Werner Hampel as he became Town Supervisor, and with Leo McAllister before him. It was great for me to learn more about the community and be part of the community I have been in for a long time.
