MIDDLEBURGH - The Middleburgh varsity girls will have a new coach this year.
With last year's coach Carley Ryan moving to Schoharie school as athletic director, the Middleburgh Knights girls' team will be led by Nicole Dunn.
The coach named by the Middleburgh school board last month was Aaron Lawyer as assistant coach for the JV boys basketball team and the girls basketball modified team.
Other personnel moves at the November meeting, board members:
* Appointed Ellen Richter as a substitute registered nurse and Teresa Norfolk as a certified teaching substitute.
* Named the following support staff substitutes: Kaitlyn Allen, Vasiliki Crewell, Victoria Bouck, Valerie Slater, Gerard Wallace, and Kristina Traver.
* Named Ruth Reardon as a substitute.
* Accepted the resignation of Christina Snyder as pre-K to sixth grade social studies coordinator.
* Accepted the resignation of Carley Ryan as pre-K to sixth grade coordinator.
* Named Maria Sime as pre-K to sixth grade coordinator and Brianne Slater as pre-K to sixth grade literacy coordinator.
* Accepted the resignation of Carley Ryan as elementary school teacher with regrets and best wishes.
* Appointed Jenna Crull as a speech-language pathologist.
* Named Marianne Warner as an elementary school teacher.
* Appointed the following long-term volunteers: Rob Randaisi, Randy Nelson, RJ Proctor, and Dave Mattice. all for athletics.
In other action, board members:
* Approved four tax roll corrections.
* Declared some library materials obsolete.
* Approved an updated board policy on sexual harassment in the workplace.
* Approve the senior trip to Ocean City New Jersey from May 31 to June 2, 2024.
