Hancock – Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced that a man is facing the charge of False Inspection Certificate, following a disabled vehicle incident, which occurred in the Town of Hancock.
On December 8th, 2023, Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a disabled vehicle on State Highway 17 in the Town of Hancock. Deputies were able to identify the driver as 40-year-old Mohammad Uddin of Cheektowaga New York.
Upon further investigation of Uddin’s vehicle, it was found that the inspection sticker displayed belonged to another vehicle.
Deputies subsequently arrested and charged Uddin with False Inspection Certificate, a Unclassified misdemeanor and uninspected vehicle violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Uddin was subsequently arrested and released on uniformed traffic summonses and was directed to appear in the Town of Hancock Court at a later date.
