Obituary - Lyle L. Fitzpatrick

Schoharie (Schoharie County): Lyle L. Fitzpatrick 86, of Rickard Hill Road Schoharie, NY passed away Tuesday, January 9th at the Cobleskill Regional Hospital after a decline in his health.

Lyle was born August 27, 1937 in Alma Wisconsin, a son of Frederick and Dorothy (Day) Fitzpatrick and graduated from Pine Plains High School in Wisconsin.  He enlisted in the US Navy serving his country from 1956 to 1960 serving on board the USS Independence, among others, as a boilerman.  Upon his honorable discharge, Lyle relocated to NYS and lived downstate eventually working for Beconta Industries in Elmsford where he met his future wife, Annette.  Together they found Schoharie County first settling in Gallupville and later, Rickard Hill Road in Schoharie.  Lyle worked for many years at the former Schenectady Chemical, later Schenectady International until retiring in 2006.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching football and baseball, cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers, NY Yankees and Wisconsin Badgers.

Survivors include: his wife; Annette (Alpoonarian) Fitzpatrick whom he married November 27, 1976, his two sons; Brian (Sharon) Fitzpatrick of Cobleskill and Matthew (Steffanie) Fitzpatrick of Guilderland, 3 grandchildren; Brady, Connor, and Nathan, his siblings; Jerry, Joyce, Shirley and Maureen.  He was predeceased by his parents and his siblings; Loretta, Joann, and Ken.

As per Lyle’s wishes, there will be no formal services.  Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Lyle to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092 OR the Susquehanna SPCA, 5082-5088 St. Hwy 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
