The Schoharie Valley Singers will begin rehearsals for their Spring 2024 Concert Season entitled, “Pure Imagination!” First rehearsal night will be on Tuesday, January 30th with a “Meet and Greet” pot-luck meal at 5:45 PM, in-person registration at 6:30 PM followed by rehearsal from 7-9 PM. Rehearsal location is at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 141 Church Street in Central Bridge. Bring a dish to share and your own beverage and table service.
New and returning singers of all ages and ability levels are welcome to join. Registration for the season will be conducted both online and in-person. We want to extend a special invitation to all local high school students! Tenors and basses are encouraged yet all voices welcome. “Pure Imagination” is music that delights and inspires and features works by: Hagenberg, Silvey, Brumfield, Walker, Thomas, and others including local composer James Corigliano. With special guests: Schoharie High School’s “Leading Tones” under the direction of Carrie Styles will perform at the May 3rd concert at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Central Bridge and “New Day Ensemble” under the direction of Mark Pracher will perform the following night May 4th at the Duanesburg Reformed Presbyterian Church in Duanesburg.
Organized in 1979 as the Depot Lane Singers under the direction and founder Frances B. Tripp and reorganized in 2019 as the Schoharie Valley Singers and incorporated as an independent not-for-profit 501(c)6 organization; the group is currently under the direction of Rae Jean Teeter, Artistic Director and Mark Pracher, Accompanist.
