SCHOHARIE - It did not take Schoharie Central School long to fill the assistant principal vacancy in the elementary school.
School board members at their December 21 meeting named Betsy Wright as elementary school assistant principal. It is an 11-month position and she will be paid a pro-rated salary of $88,267 for the remainder of the school year. Ms. Wright was appointed to a four-year probationary position.
Ms. Wright was a Middle School Assistant Principal in the Schenectady City School District.
Ms. Wright replaces Marci Tebbano left for Scotia-Glenville Middle School in November. Ms. Tebbano left on November 3 and school board members accepted her resignation at their November 14 meeting.
In other significant personnel changes, board members:
* Accepted the retirement resignation of secretary Karen Gannon, with best wishes, effective January 26, 2024.
* Revised the appointment of Kylie Smith as secondary school science teacher reflecting issuance of initial certification.
