Town Organizes for 2024

COBLESKILL — The Town of Cobleskill had its organizational meeting along with the normal board meeting on January 8th. Supervisor, Werner Hampel called the meeting to order at 7 pm and the meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance. Supervisor, Werner Hampel introduced and welcomed Lisa Wayman the new Town Board Member who began her term on January 1st.  Al Rubin was also re-elected for another term.

The Dog Pound Facility – Inter-Municipal Agreement was approved and it will include the following Towns, Sharon, Richmondville, Summit, Seward, and Blenheim. There is a related story in this week’s edition.

The Board also approved the Agreement with the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley to be signed by Werner Hampel.  There were several appointments made for a one year term – Bookkeeper, Lynnette S.B. Lawyer CPA, Service and Budget Officer, Werner T Hampel, Deputy Supervisor, Roger J Mallery, Town Engineer, Daniel Crandell, Code Enforcement Officer, Michael Piccolo and Joseph Nelson, Dog Control Officer, Jillian Smith, Town Historian, Peter Lindemann, Safety Committee, Lisa Wayman.  Town Park, Arthur Boreali, Deputy Highway Superintendent Timothy Gallagher appointed by Lee Johnson (Highway Superintendent), and Deputy Town Clerk Elizabeth Barr appointed by Tina Ward (Town Clerk/Collector). 

Resolutions were made for the Town Board Meeting to meet the 2nd Monday of the month at 7 pm and if that day is a Holiday, the following Tuesday will be the official meeting.  Several other resolutions included the naming of the official banks, official newspaper, employee salaries, sick time, personal time, official Holidays, mileage reimbursement, seasonal highways, funding of annual meetings, schools, conventions, and seminars necessary for training, payroll changes, and payroll taxes.
