Today, Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Franklin resident for possession of a controlled substance.
On December 20th, 2023, Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies responded to an address in the Town of Franklin to assist the Delaware County Probation Office with a search of a residence. At the conclusion of the search, Deputies secured a quantity of individually stored crystal like substance and various items of drug paraphernalia possessed by 43-year old Ryan J. Vandeusen of Franklin N.Y. Deputies say that Vandeusen was on Probation with the Delaware County Probation Office at the time of the possession.
Further investigation and laboratory analysis of the crystal like substance revealed the substance to be Methamphetamine, a schedule II stimulant.
On March 21st, 2024, Vandeusen was arrested and charged with (2) counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, and criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd degree. Following his arrest, Vandeusen was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Franklin Town Court at a later date.
