Mount Upton Resident Arrested on DWI

Sidney – Today, Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Mount Upton resident for driving while intoxicated.

On Sunday night, March 24th, 2024, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a one car motor vehicle accident with entrapment on State Highway 357, in the town of Sidney. Deputies arrived on scene and observed that a vehicle had left the roadway, struck an embankment, causing the vehicle to rollover, then coming to rest off of the roadway. Deputies made contact with the driver, 65-year-old Lawrence Peloso of Mount Upton. 

Upon completion of the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged Lawrence Peloso with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a BAC greater than 0.08%, all misdemeanors, Moved from lane unsafely, and Speed not Reasonable and Prudent both violations in the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Upon completion of arrest processing, Peloso was released on tickets returnable to the Town of Sidney Court at a later date.
