Obituary - Marlene J. Lawyer

Written By The Mountain Eagle on 4/25/24 | 4/25/24

Marlene J. Lawyer, of State Route 30, found eternal peace on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Marlene was born 87 years ago on August 20, 1936, the eldest of 12 children born to Catherine (Tilison) and Reuben Mickle.  She graduated from Middleburgh Central School and then served in the United States Air Force.  Marlene returned home following her military service and focused on raising and caring for her growing family.  She filled her life with happiness and countless memories.  Marlene loved traveling, square dancing with the Schoharie Valley Hay Shakers, bowling, camping and visiting the casinos.  And when she was home, her days were filled tending to her gardens, her fruit trees, canning and baking.  Some of her happiest moments though, were spent in the company of her family.  Her kind spirit,
humor, and wit will be missed by all who knew her.

Loving her forever are her husband and companion for over 65 years: Boyce Lawyer of Middleburgh; her daughter: Deborah (Larry) Hamm of West Fulton; her step-sons: Boyce (Star) Lawyer, Jr. of Schoharie, Bruce (Cathy) Lawyer of Middleburgh and Wayne Lawyer of Schoharie; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her siblings: Rosemary Cummings, Larry, Chuck and Howard Mickle; countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Marlene was predeceased by her son: Daniel Mickle and her many of her siblings.

All are invited to a visitation with Marlene’s family from 1:00-3:00PM on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC 134 River Street, Middleburgh.  Burial will be held privately at a later date, in Breakabeen Cemetery.
