SCHOHARIE - Terry Burton and Dan Guasp will once again lead the Schoharie school board as president and vice-president, respectfully.
School board members held their annual re-organizational meeting Thursday evening. In addition to electing Mr. Burton as president and Mr. Guasp as vice-president, they made a slew of appointments and designations. Both Mr. Burton and Mr. Guasp faced no opposition.
Board members last week:
* Named Barbara Maland as clerk of the board and Amanda Maland as deputy clerk.
* Appointed Raymond G. Preusser, CPA, P.C. as independent auditor.
* Named Donna Nunamann as treasurer and Samantha Bellinger as deputy treasurer.
* Named Amanda Maland as student activity treasurer and Ms. Bellinger as alternate.
* Appointed Superintendent David Blanchard as attendance officer and principals David Russell and Andrea Polikoski as alternates.
* Appointed school business manger David Baroody as purchasing agent.
* Named Denise Rose and Ms. Bellinger as co-tax collectors and Amanda Maland as deputy tax collector.
* Named Guercio & Guercio, LLP as school attorney.
* Appointed Mr. Blanchard as records access officer and Mr. Baroody as alternate.
* Appointed Matthew Wright as Title IX compliance officer.
* Named Mr. Baroody as data privacy officer and Mr. Blanchard as alternate.
* Named Carley Ryan as claims auditor and Chief Faculty Auditor, both at $40 an hour.
* Named Ms. Wright as deputy claims auditor at $40 an hour.
* Appointed Shawn Gathen as asbestos LEA designee.
* Named Barbara Maland as census enumerator.
* Named Amanda Maland as records management officer.
* Named Matthew Wright as Medicaid compliance officer.
* Appointed Tara Leveski (elementary) and Brianna Conley (high school) as substitute callers.
* Appointed Mr. Russell and Mr. Polikoski as Dignity Act coordinators.
* Named Mr. Russell as chief faculty advisor for extraclassroom activity fund.
* Named Mr. Wright as foster care liaison.
* Named Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Wright, Mr. Russell, and Ms. Polikoski as Civil Rights compliance officers.
* Designated NBT Bank and NY Class Confidential as official depositories.
* Named the Mountain Eagle as alternate official newspaper.
* Designated board member John Florussen as delegate to Schoharie Area School Boards Association.
* Agreed to continue participation in the federal breakfast and lunch program for the 2024-25 school year.
* Established the mileage rate for the 2024-25 school year at the prevailing IRS rate.
* Named Mr. Wright as chairman of the Committee on Special Education, Committee of Pre-School Education, and the 504 committee.
* Named eight impartial hearing officers for the school district.
* Appointed the full school board as audit committee.
