August Schedule for Veteran Events

Check out the busy August schedule of events provided by the Schoharie County Veterans’ Service Agency! This group is operated by Peer-to-Peer Veteran Advocate Kris Hofeller. Kris goes above and beyond in this position and attends nearly every event!

From Kris:

The Schoharie County Veteran Service Office's mission is: All one fight, no one left behind “This is the way". We support veterans and

help them adjust back into civilian life, but our most important task is to combat veteran suicide. Here in Schoharie county, our activities are not just for veterans but also for their families.

We started with a veteran's breakfast and a lunch. Now, at a year and a half later, we have an equine assisted therapy program, camping retreats, caving day trips, canoeing day trips, hiking day trips, fishing excursions, and range days. We also have several breakfast and lunch locations at varying dates and times throughout the month.

Our accredited Veterans Service Officer can assist in submitting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability claims. We collaborate with neighboring counties to support and share in their activities. We welcome veterans outside of Schoharie county and we often have out of state veterans attending our retreats. This all goes to the mission of bringing veteran suicide from seventeen a day to ZERO.
