TANNERSVILLE — The Hunter Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of Easy Riders E-bike Rental Company with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week.. Located at 6055 Main Street in the Village of Tannersville, the new business offers a unique way to explore the scenic beauty of the Catskills and Hudson Valley with high-quality Lectric e-bikes.
Russell Morse, the owner of Easy Riders, shared his journey from a 30-year career as a General Contractor to starting this new venture. "I opened Easy Riders as a delivery and pickup e-bike rental service. I had previously spent the last 30 years as a General Contractor and builder. My help of 15 years decided they didn't want to do construction anymore, so I came up with this idea," Morse explained. "I wanted to make an affordable way for visitors to our area to enjoy sightseeing in a different way. I also wanted to bring something fun for people to do that is already trending in many parts of our country but had not yet made it to our area."
Easy Riders offers convenient delivery of e-bikes directly to customers at hotels, Airbnbs, vacation homes, or campgrounds, available seven days a week for half-day and full-day rentals. In addition to delivery, Morse decided to open a storefront in Tannersville to cater to customers interested in renting e-bikes by the hour. "I figured with all of the hotels, motels, resorts, and camping, this would be a good location," he said.
Hunter Chamber of Commerce President Ryan Penny praised the new addition to the community, stating, "The Hunter Chamber is excited to welcome another new business to Tannersville, especially one that offers a great outdoor recreation option and a fun way to explore more of our community."
However, Morse acknowledged that business has been slow since opening the Tannersville location. "Most of my business has been booked online for deliveries. It seems that people are still learning about my service," he noted. Despite the slow start, Morse remains optimistic and plans to expand. "I am working very hard to set up another location by the Ashokan Rail Trail for the fall season."
The e-bikes, which have a range of 65 to 75 miles on Pedal Assist Mode level 1 or 20 to 50 miles with no pedaling, depending on the model, are perfect for exploring both city streets and rugged trails. Easy Riders also offers a selection of cold beverages and healthy snacks at their Tannersville store, ensuring that customers have everything they need for a memorable adventure.
As Tannersville continues to grow as a destination for outdoor enthusiasts, Easy Riders E-bike Rental Company is poised to become a key player in offering a fun and eco-friendly way to experience the Catskills.
Store hours are Thursday through Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and rentals are priced at $35 per hour, $80 for a half-day (4 hours), and $150 for a full day (8 hours).
