SCHOHARIE - Schoharie Central School has announced that three vocalists were selected because of their vocal musical excellence to perform in the NYSSMA All–State Festival this year.
Acceptance into this festival is considered among the highest honors for high school musicians. The All-State NYSSMA conference will be held in early December in Rochester. Seniors Ryan Snyder, Sophia Watson and Ivy Wray were chosen based on their outstanding scores and adjudications of their vocal solos at this spring’s NYSSMA festival.
Thousands of students perform at NYSSMA festivals across New York State and a very small percentage are selected to participate in the All–State conference. This year, SCS students will all be members of the Mixed Chorus. Ryan Snyder was selected to sing as a Bass 1, Sophia Watson was selected to sing as an Alto 1 and Ivy Wray was selected to sing as an Alto 2.
The district is incredibly proud of these three musicians for this prestigious accomplishment.
