SHARON SPRINGS - Silver & Gold Senior Club members welcomed the Christmas season with an intergenerational experience on Friday, December 13th. Kindergarten students from Sharon Springs Central School visited the group at its recent December luncheon meeting at the Office for the Aging’s congregate meal site at the Sharon Springs Firehouse.

Students adorned with festive novelty glasses first enthusiastically sang some favorite holiday songs. Then the children paired up with seniors to construct and decorate some cardboard “gingerbread” houses.

After the students departed, Senior Club participants concluded their holiday gathering with a grab bag gift exchange. Steve Nirschl played Santa and distributed the gifts. Then seniors passed the gifts around the table while club president Anne Lennebacker read the poem “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas”.

Area seniors interested in more information about this club should contact Anne Lennebacker, president, at (607) 547-9055.
