Obituary - Mirkil F. Abrams

Mirkil F. Abrams, of Dave Brown Mountain Road, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025.  

Mirkil was born in Lynbrook, NY on April 6, 1935 to Mirkil (Firth) and Edward Coakley.  She was a member and leader of 4-H for many years and enjoyed traveling with her mother to the family farm in Pennsylvania.  Mirkil loved her family and spending summers with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting with her best friend Jane and participating in reenactments at the Old Stone Fort in Schoharie, dressing in period clothing, often making donuts over an open fire. 

Mirkil’s surviving family includes her daughter: Wendy Rutherford and son: Donald Abrams of Gilboa; her grandchildren: Ariel Ryan-Yung, Joseph Ryan Jr., Michael Ryan, Matthew Ryan; eight great-grandchildren; sister: Betty Coakley Kanca; brothers: Neil Coakley and Edward Coakley, Jr.; several nieces and nephews.  Mirkil was predeceased by her husband; Kenneth Abrams and her sister: Susan Pigott.

Inurnment will be held in the spring, in the Old Stone Fort Cemetery, Schoharie, NY.
