DELHI — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the promotion of Sergeant Heath Goff of Delhi, NY, to the position of First Sergeant effective January 1, 2025.
First Sergeant Goff initiated his career at the Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer on March 19, 2008. He was promoted to Corporal and thereafter Sergeant on June 28, 2020. Heath has also served as the Assistant Director for the Delaware County Corrections Academy, Training Director and Accreditation Manager of the Corrections Division. Heath holds a New York State Division of Criminal Justice Master Instructor Certification as well as numerous other training certifications.
In his new position as First Sergeant, Goff will be directly responsible on a full-time basis for the Accreditation Programs, Training Division, and Policy and Procedure Development for all divisions within the Sheriff’s Office. He will additionally act as a key member within the Professional Standards Division for the agency.
Speaking on the promotion, Sheriff Craig S. DuMond remarked, “I am extremely proud and honored to make this promotion today. Maintaining cutting edge and evidence-based training standards, policy and procedure development and professionalism is very important to me and every member of the Office of Sheriff. Having First Sergeant Goff dedicated to these critical areas on a full-time basis will solidify our efforts in this endeavor and I am fully confident in his abilities.
