ANDES — Sheriff Craig DuMond announced the arrest of a Andes man on Driving While Intoxicated charges.
February 7th, 2025, Sheriff’s Deputies, while on patrol in the Town of Andes, observed a vehicle being operated on State Highway 28, crossing the double yellow line and nearly striking another vehicle.
Upon conducting a traffic stop, Deputies identified the operator as 38-year-old Gregory Evans of Andes, NY. Upon further investigation, Deputies determined that Evans was operating the vehicle while in an intoxicated state. As a result of the investigation, Deputies arrested and charged Evans with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated .08% or higher, both are unclassified misdemeanors. Evans was additionally issued with traffic summonses for dazzling headlights, failure to keep right and dirty/obstructed plate all violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Evans was released on appearance tickets and traffic summonses and was directed to appear at the Town of Andes Court at a later date to answer the charges.
