GRAND GORGE — The Grand Gorge Community Action Group (GGCAG) is dedicated to enhancing the beauty and spirit of our beloved hamlet. Through the hard work of our volunteers and the generosity of local businesses, we have been able to bring our community together with projects such as public benches, flower baskets, and holiday wreaths.
As the holiday season comes to an end and we turn our attention to planning for spring and summer projects, we would like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to those who have supported us.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to Billy Eklund and the staff at Eklund Farm Machinery for graciously donating the use of aerial machines for the installation and removal of our holiday wreaths this year. Billy's generosity allowed our volunteers to safely and efficiently put up the wreaths on December 1st and take them down in mid-January. Eklund Farm Machinery not only provided top-quality equipment but also professionally delivered and picked up the machines, ensuring a seamless process and allowing us to utilize the machines around our volunteer's schedules and the weather. The aerial platforms allowed for safe and stable working conditions, eliminating the need for additional trucks and trailers and making the entire project much more manageable.
We would also like to recognize and thank MTC in Margaretville for their continued support over the years. MTC has been instrumental in helping us install our holiday wreaths with their line crew in previous years. While they were unable to assist last year due to extensive storm damage in the region, we greatly appreciate their past contributions and their dedication to serving the community.
Local businesses like Eklund Farm Machinery and MTC exemplify the true spirit of community by giving back and supporting efforts that enhance our town. Their generosity and commitment do not go unnoticed, and we encourage residents to show their appreciation by supporting these businesses. If you have a work project, we highly recommend visiting Billy and his team at Eklund Farm Machinery in Stamford, NY, where you’ll find a wide selection of machines available for rent or purchase.
Additionally, we kindly ask the community to consider donating to the Grand Gorge Community Action Group. Contributions help fund the repair and maintenance of our current holiday wreaths, the purchase of new wreaths, and our annual flower project. Donations can be sent to GGCAG, P.O. Box 306, Grand Gorge, NY 12434. Your support ensures that we can continue beautifying downtown Grand Gorge, historically known as the “Hub of the Catskills.”
Thank you once again to our incredible local businesses and community members for making Grand Gorge a wonderful place to live and visit.
