SCHOHARIE - Even though the winds and snows of winter are still blowing, Schoharie school board members named a slate of spring coaches the week before winter break.
At their February 13 meeting, school board members appointed the following spring coaches:
* Dan DeJong, modified baseball head coach, stipend of $1,750.
* Shawn Gathen, JV baseball head coach, stipend of $2,410.
* Eric Croote, varsity baseball head coach, stipend of $3,260.
* Jason Ballard, baseball, volunteer assistant.
* Lawrence Zuefle, baseball volunteer assistant.
* Greg Hotaling, baseball volunteer assistant.
* Anthony Monescalchi, boys varsity track and field head coach, $3,340.
* Gabrielle Stanavich, girls varsity track and field head coach, $2,950.
* Sherry Hahn, modified track and field head coach, $1,550.
* Stanley France, varsity tennis head coach, $3,140.
In other personnel moves, board members:
* Appointed Nola Dunscombe to a probationary full-time teacher aide position at a salary of $18,042, retroactive to February 3.
* Named Jamie McFarland to a probationary part-time food service helper position at a salary of $15.97 per hour, retroactive to January 27.
* Approved a consultant services agreement with Jodie Bender, retroactive to February 1, through June 20, 2025.
* Approved a revision of appointment for Bret Fancher as a long-term substitute in the junior-senior high school from November 4, 2024 through June 27, 2025, to November 4, 2024 through February 11.
* Added the following to the SCS substitute list at the current sub rates: Rylee Dea, effective January 27, non-certified with degree; Caryn Lediuzet, effective January 27, non-certified without degree; and Kendal Luthanen, effective January 28, non-certified without degree.
* Added eight people to the Capital Region BOCES teacher substitute calling service list.
