SHARON SPRINGS — SSCS has been busy as the students have made many memorable accomplishments over this week. Three juniors from SSCS were able to join the Albany Youth Leadership and Legislative Day. Those involved were Peyton Barbic, Yasmin Issa, and Hailey Cashman. These students participated in workshops and met elected state representatives like Chris Tague.
Yasmin Issa, a junior at SSCS has won at the Regional Level of American Oratorical Contest. She will proceed to the State competition March 8th if placed 1st or 2nd she will be able to compete in the National competition for $25,000 to go towards college education. Congratulations Yasmin!
The Second Quarter Honor and Merit rolls have been posted! Magnificent work to all students with their hard work and efforts to get there.
The January Students of the Month are Noah Larkin, Maddox Lynk, Bastian Kelly, Mason Wellman-Bates, Cole Ducharme, Mila Issa, Greyson Wilber, Warren Ducharme, and Mackenzie Sinatra. Wonderful job! Senior night basketball ceremonies were last Thursday night that honored Seth Mahoney, Shepard Yager, Mason Kutinsky, and John Mercado. Congrats Seniors!
The Sharon Springs PTO is holding a Sweethearts Dance for K-5 students at 6pm Friday, February 7th.
The Winter All County Music Festival is on Saturday February 8th at 3pm. Make sure to come to support the students.
