UTICA — The SUNY Cobleskill women’s indoor track and field team traveled to Utica University on Saturday to compete at the Blue and Orange Invitational, delivering strong performances across multiple events.
In the distance events, Alyssa Freeguard (Argyle, NY) led the Tigers with a solid showing, placing 33rd in the 3000m with a time of 11:34.50 and 28th in the mile at 5:44.22. Gabrielle Waite (Pulaski, NY) and Molly Repicky (Schoharie, NY) finished 31st and 32nd in the 5000m, clocking in at 21:58.82 and 22:29.91, respectively. In the mile, Madison Binette (Lewistown, ME) placed ninth in her heat and 62nd overall with a time of 6:25.20, while Gillian Miner (Saranac, NY) finished 45th in 5:51.77. Miner also placed 32nd in the 800m with a time of 2:37.16.
Anneliese Klein (Carlisle, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) had a busy day, finishing 19th overall in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.02, winning her heat in the 800m in 2:44.56, and securing 21st in the long jump with a mark of 4.86m (15-11 ½). Fellow first-year hurdler Guerna Becker (Fairfield, MT) placed 43rd overall in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.84.
In the field events, Adira-Virginia Greer-Padilla (Fallsburg, NY) recorded a weight throw of 11.05m (36-3) to place 37th, while Alyssa Abbott (Bliss, NY/Letchworth Central) led the Tigers in the shot put with a 9.07m (29-9 ¼) effort. Dory Gosselin (Whitehall, NY) finished 41st in the weight throw with a mark of 10.65m (34-11 ¼) and 42nd in the shot put with a toss of 8.82m (28-11 ¼).
The Tigers return to action on February 15 at the Kane Invitational, hosted by Cornell University.
