DELHI — SUNY Delhi celebrates the start of the academic year with full enrollment for the Fall 2025 semester. Nearly 1,300 new students joined the campus community on Tuesday, August 19, for Welcome Week orientation, filling the college's academic programs and residence halls to capacity. This year's robust enrollment continues SUNY Delhi's upward trend in student demand, following a record enrollment peak in 2024.
"Our continued strong enrollment is a testament to SUNY Delhi's reputation for career-focused education and hands-on learning," said SUNY Delhi President Mary Bonderoff. "Students from across New York and beyond are choosing Delhi because they see the value of our programs and the success of our graduates. We're proud to be at capacity and are working diligently to expand opportunities in high-demand fields such as mechatronics, electrical construction, and healthcare so even more students can benefit from a SUNY Delhi education in the future."
The incoming class was selected from a competitive pool of nearly 10,000 applicants. Over 1,000 new undergraduate students are residential and commuting students, while nearly 300 are enrolled in online and graduate programs. Geographically, the incoming class represents 58 New York counties and 19 U.S. states. This year's most popular majors are electrical construction, architecture, criminal justice, nursing, and veterinary science.
Welcome Week orientation offers a dynamic program with academic sessions and social events to prepare students for a successful start to their college journey. Returning students will move in the weekend before classes begin on campus and online on Monday, August 25, bringing the total enrollment at SUNY Delhi to over 3,100.
