Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women’s golf team has been accepted as a member to the Northeast Women’s Golf Conference (NWGC) for the 2022-23 season. The conference was formed in the spring of 2019 and is recognized as a single-sport NCAA Division III conference with an automatic NCAA Championship Bid.

League members include Husson University, Johnson & Wales University, Keuka College, Manhattanville College, Nazareth College, Suffolk University, SUNY Canton, SUNY Cortland, St. John Fisher College, Westfied State University and Utica College.

According to a grateful Fighting Tiger Head Coach Bowman joining the conference is a significant step forward the women’s golf program.

“We are honored by the invitation to join and compete in the Northeast Women’s Golf Conference. We are excited to embrace the new challenges and opportunities this will allow for our women’s team. I would like to thank the diligent work our Athletic Director, Marie Curran-Headley, did to ensure our women would have this amazing opportunity to compete at the highest level and represent our institution. I would also like to thank the current team for laying down the foundation and trusting our leadership to take them to the next level and support them as student-athletes.”

The Fighting Tigers will open the 2022 season on Saturday September 3rd when they host the 2022 Fighting Tiger Fall Invitational at the Cobleskill Golf & Country Club beginning at 11:00 AM.
