Davenport– Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced that a man is facing several charges following a motor vehicle incident, which occurred in the Town of Davenport.
On November 26th, 2023, Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies responded to motor vehicle complaint in the Town of Davenport. It was reported to Sheriff's Deputies that a vehicle had been stolen, damaged and return to the owner’s residence. Later that day Sheriff's Deputies located where the vehicle had been involved in a property damage accident.
Upon the conclusion of their investigation, the Sheriff’s Deputies determined that owner 23-year-old Hector L. Padilla of Davenport New York had made a false report and was the operator of the vehicle when it was involved in a property damage accident.
Deputies subsequently arrested and charged Padilla with two counts of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree, one count of Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree and one count of Falsely Reporting an Incident in the third degree all Class A Misdemeanors.
Padilla was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Davenport Court at a later date.
