TANNERSVILLE — In the village of Tannersville, the Mountain Top Library has become a community engagement hub with its weekly "Monday Meet-Up." Every Monday from 2 to 5 pm, locals and visitors are invited to gather at the library to participate in various activities catering to diverse interests and ages.
The Monday Meet-Up is a vibrant event that features puzzles, games, assorted programs, newspapers, and a vast selection of books. Attendees can enjoy good conversation and occasionally indulge in delicious baked goods. Jaki Elmo, the library's assistant director, expressed her enthusiasm for the event: "Drop in every Monday to share stories, play games, learn about local history, and drink coffee!"
The diverse activities show the library's commitment to fostering a sense of community. From engaging in board games to exploring the pages of newspapers or books, there is something for everyone. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, encouraging visitors to connect.
One of the standout features of the Monday Meet-Up is the introduction of "Piano Yoga" at 4 pm. Participants can either sign up to play the piano or enjoy a rejuvenating stretch session. This unique addition adds a musical and therapeutic touch to the weekly gathering.
Elmo extended a warm invitation to all age groups, emphasizing that the Monday Meet-Up is where individuals can come together to enjoy books, board games, and each other's company. The event serves as a platform for building connections, sharing stories, and fostering a sense of community pride.
Whether you're a history enthusiast, a book lover, or looking for a relaxing Monday afternoon, the Mountain Top Library's Monday Meet-Up is an option. Join the community, make new friends, and embrace the joy of learning and socializing in the heart of Tannersville.
The next Meet-Up is on December 25.
