SHARON SPRINGS — This past weekend the Village of Sharon Springs was in full Holiday swing with multiple events throughout!
Saturday (12/2) was busy all day! The Sharon Springs Holiday Artisan Faire from 10-4 had something for everyone. There were vendors set up inside The American Hotel and 204 Main, activities around town, and even a Candy Cane Scavenger Hunt! The Sharon Springs Chamber of Commerce hosted this event.
Then, to follow, at 5:30 PM, everyone gathered at the Sharon Springs Central School for the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! The tree got new lights this year thanks to all the fundraising efforts from the PTO.
After the twinkling tree was lit, participants for 20+ floats/ groups got into place for the Parade to start promptly at 6:00 PM. With quite the display for this “Parade of Lights”, all were wowed and children gathered tons of candy and special surprises from local businesses!
The Parade ended at the Firehouse and offered a chance to visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus, children even received a gift! The SSCS PTO organized a hot cocoa bar, homemade cookies, and so much more. The turnout was huge due to the warmer temperatures that evening.
Great job and BIG thank you to everyone and all who helped make the Village of Sharon Springs so full of cheer this past weekend!
