SHARON SPRINGS — The Spa Ritz, Schoharie County Office for the Aging’s Congregate Meal Site at the Sharon Springs Firehouse, hosted thirty-two Silver & Gold Senior Club members for turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, diced carrots and broccoli-cauliflower-onion salad on December 8th for their monthly noon luncheon. OFA staff Crystal McCance and Kristina LaQuire embodied their elf personalities to help serve the festive meal.
“Christmas time is here, happiness and cheer, fun for all that children call their favorite time of year.”
After lunch, Kindergarten and Second Grade Students from Sharon Springs Central School presented “Charlie Brown’s Christmas” with spirited holiday songs for the senior audience. Students will share the Christmas play in full costume and with full props as the school’s morning program on December 20.
To conclude the holiday gathering, seniors participated in a Christmas grab bag gift exchange as Silver & Gold Senior Club President Anne Lennebacker read “The Night Before Christmas”.
Another lovely example of the wonderful resources at work in our community. Big thanks and Happy Holidays to everyone that participates and contributes to the OFA.
