Davenport Man Arrested for Driving While Intoxicated

KORTRIGHT — Sheriff Craig DuMond announced the arrest of a Davenport man for Operating a Motor Vehicle while intoxicated.

At approximately 11:00 PM. Saturday evening, January 20th, 2024, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Highway 23 in the Town of Davenport. 

During the course of the investigation Sheriff’s Deputies identified the driver as Devon Kupris, age 22 of Davenport, NY. Upon a DMV check of Kupris’s driver’s license, it was found that his driving privileges in New York were revoked for three speeding violations or misdemeanors in 18 months. Deputies also determined that Kupris had been operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition. 

Deputies subsequently arrested and charged Kupris with Operating a Motor Vehicle while Intoxicated, Aggravated DWI .18% or higher, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the Third Degree all Unclassified Misdemeanors of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Kupris was issued traffic tickets for Unlicensed Operator, Moving from Lane Unsafely and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damaged Accident all violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Kupris, was arrested and released subsequently on appearance tickets and traffic tickets all returnable at a later date to the Town of Kortright Court.
