DELAWARE LEAGUE – The game of the week was a barn-stormer between Stamford/Jefferson and Charlotte Valley. S/J pulled off a one-point victory as sophomore McKenna Hoyt scored her 1000th career point early in the game.
It was an exciting night all the way around for J/S. Hoyt led scoring with 29 points and 15 rebounds, but fouled out with more than two minutes remaining in the. Stamford held on with a three point lead to finish with a one-point victory.Teammate Tierney Turner added eight points and six rebounds in the victory. Charlotte Valley got 20 points and 12 rebounds from Ella Gerster and teammate Brinlee Wright added 14 points in double figures. Jessica Zuill had a good night on the boards, pulling down seven rebounds.
It was the second one-point loss in two key pairings for the Lady Wildcats.
South Kortright defeated Charlotte Valley 34-33 in another barnstormer. Addy Eckert led the way with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Madyson Reeves chimed in eight points. For Davenport, Ella Gerster scored 16 points and Brinlee Wright added eight points.
Laurens/Milford posted a 36-8 win over Roxbury in a non-league game last Friday.
Gilboa-Windham defeated Margaretville 40-22 last Thursday. Hannah Tuttle scored 16 points to lead the charge and Ashtyn Hansen chimed in another 12 points and Caitlin Ciaravino added 11 points. Ana Gavette led the Lady Blue Devils with 11 points.
Stamford/Jefferson defeated Hunter-Tannersville, 64-42 last Thursday. McKenna Hoyt dropped a game high 33 points and 15 rebounds. Teammate Tierney Turner added 18 points. Saleema Paladian led H-T scoring with 10 points and 14 rebounds. She also had five blocks and five steals. Julia Legg adde 11 points and seven rebounds.
